This volume inaugurates a monographic series on the Early Iron Age cemetery in Domasław (sites 10/11/12, Wrocław County). Prepared by Anna Józefowska and Bogusław Gediga, it compiles standardised catalogue entries and plates for the Hallstatt-period sector of the cremation cemetery, forming a baseline for comparative studies and further analyses.
The work introduces the scope and aims of the series and situates the site within the local physiography of the Wrocław Plain. It summarises the large-scale rescue excavations conducted from 2006 to 2008 over 15 hectares and the scale of documentation (almost 14,000 features). For the Early Iron Age cemetery itself, over 1000 related features were recorded, including c. 800 cremation graves, including nearly 300 burial pits with square wooden chambers; the assemblage comprises >9,000 vessels and c. 3,000 metal, glass, amber, and stone artefacts.
